Help with picking new SD Cards

With the recent price slash on SD cards I'm going to be investing in a couple of spares for the bag. Now I've always been using Sandisk Extreme Pro's but hear loads about Lexar Pro cards. I have a pair of D7100's so I know there is little point in getting the UHC-2 cards as I wont achieve the speeds but I'm more interested in thoughts between the two brands.

Any advice would be good

I will be following this thread with interest. I've just bought myself one of the few new D7000's left so I'm going to need a couple myself.
Micro SD cards with adaptors are popular too, can they be considered an option?

You may be surprised by how fast the d7100 transfers data at. With the sandisk 95mb/s writing at 70mb/s (just like the d750) its worth buying the fastest cards. If you had a D800 that does limit write speed I would have said buy the slower cards but not with the d7100.

For SD cards I've always gone with SanDisk. I did go for a few Lexar Professional 800x CF cards, many on price. CF cards are much more expensive. I've not a problem with either. It really comes down to what you want to pay for them. Just make sure you buy from an authorised dealer. If from amazon make sure it's actually amazon and not a market place seller.

Sandisk for me as a rule though I do have Lexar C/F and PNY (Currys special??) never touch wood had any issued with any of them some are 5 years old and regularly used.

I'd only ever had Sandisk CF cards for my DSLRs previously, but when I was looking at a D750, I saw a similar review. I ended up getting 2 32GB Samsung Pro SD cards to use with it. I don't do much continuous shooting, so the transfer rates weren't a major factor (though they aren't down on the fastest by very much at all) and they were quite a bit cheaper.

the best value speed/price one is the lexar 1000x for 25quid from mymemory, remmber topcashback too
