I know...one more : help me choosing P&S camera ... :)

I promised my fiancée (yes, I got engaged and didn't told any one so keep it quiet :) ) that I will get her a P&S camera before we go home in April.

I would like it to be quite small,slim...just girl size ;) ( no offence ladies ) and be able to take good photos :)

My budget is around £200. but could stretch to £300 if needed and convinced ;)

I know that Casio makes really slim ones...but are they good? what about nikon?panasonic?
 
The Canon isn't massively slim however but packed with features.

Not a fan of Casio myself tbh, but don't let that put you off.

Fujifilm F80
Nikon S5100 (very fast and light and small)
Nikon S8100 (little bulkier but lots of zoom)
Canon IXUS 130 (very stylish and small, comes in Black, Silver and Pink) Image stabilised.

Somehow I don't think that falls within the quoted budget :lol: But it would certainly take some good pictures :p

I vote for the canon s95. It's a great high end compact. And the price is around your budget. I saw one at jacobsdigital going for 299

so that's 2 for s95 now
I have to be honest i like how new Nikon's look...but is me not her ;)
i think I will show her some photos of chosen cameras in here and she can pick one she likes ;)

so c'mon we need more ideas ;)
 
hmmm there is nex5 with 16mm lens for £332 ...
 
Canon ixus 100 or 105 is £99.99 from Currys. My gf has one and it's a great little camera.

I'm probably stating the obvious, but if she just wants a nice camera to record memories then don't be overly critical and pedantic about things. Let her go and have a play and find one she's comfortable using rather than forcing one she doesn't like.
