I've used Flikr for a long time and copy and paste the BBCode when I want to post a shot on TP.

I tried to post a shot in the 'Lets see your best reflections' thread earlier today but instead of the image appearing, which has always happened in the past, it shows as an icon with a red cross through it .

I assume I am, (or not), doing something; grateful if anyone can help.

Thanks

Dave

Possibly too large to display within the forum limits.

Yes, this forum is a little unforgiving with image sizes, that may explain why quite a few of mine are soft :(

You need to pick a lower resolution from the drop down before copying the BBCode.
I usually get a way with 1200ish on the long end.

I'm not sure why the forums has these limits on Flickr hosted images as it doesn't put any burden on the forum server. Maybe a mod @Cobra can explain.

It's likely to be too large.
From the help pages.

Uploading images as an attachment.
Click the attach file button below the reply box.
When you do this you will be presented with 3 options, thumbnail, full size or delete ( the bin icon).
Select the appropriate button.

Or you can simply drop and drag the image directly into the reply box, this will upload as full size.
If you are attaching files they must be below 500kb and no larger than 1024px on the longest side.

From the likes of Flickr.
You will need to select the BB code.
There is a guide in the tutorials section.

The 1024px on the longest side rule still applies,
but also be mindful of people on slow connections.
Its advised that the size also remains around the 500kb mark,
but its not mandatory.

Thank you all for the quick replies, I think answers about the size are correct.

I'll give it another go.
