Then messed about in PP using different levels/blending modes etc, Happy with the results on screen, I thought will get them printed, so i took my USB stick to Jacobs and got them printed on there instant print machine and they look terrible
I appreciate there not the best printers out there, but is it something to do with the way I've saved my images, amounts pixals or rgb/cymk etc....

I'm clueless

maybe a case for printing your own. Anyway thats what I do as I only want a few hard copies. Now there are many dedicated photoprinters out there but I am currently using Epson Stylus Photo PX710W as I also need a scanner as well. The type of photo paper can make a huge difference and I have settled on Ilford Galerie Smooth Gloss after having tried several different makes.

Maybe this is of some help

Yeah this is something a may consider as I not to fussed about printing lots

Did you save in srgb or adobe rgb. I've made that mistake once.
Are you sure your monitor is calibrated? If you haven't something like a spyder then you can get photo box to send you a colour bar/test screen print that you compare against the image on their website.

What do you mean by spyder.....I've never actually calibrated my monitor so I defo give that ago, as regards weather it was srgb or adobe rgb I'm not sure, I'm on the app at the mo so will check later but I think it was adobe rgb, (I've never change it) which is the best one. Also I was told that it's best to use cymk for print and rgb for web applications. What about resolution for print?
