Help with softbox!

I got a softbox for christmas, but the backdrops are all creased, I don't think it can be ironed because its that polymer/plastic stuff and I recon it would just melt.

What can I do to get the creases out?

here's a pic to show what I mean....

cant you iron it by putting something over it like a handkerchief and ironing through that if you get me? i ironed some bank notes recently like that, make sure you can first thou dont take my word on it!
 
If it's a White BG it's not too much of an issue as you will be over exposing the BG anyway so the creases will not show... it's just the floor you will struggle with. A sheet of acrylic there will deal with that though :)

edit: By the way a hairdryer might do the trick, just watch how you go. However to be honest either a paper BG roll or vinyl roll would be a better choice.

Or are we misunderstanding you... As your title is Help with softbox but then you talk about backdrops. Do you mean that the diffuser sheet(s) are all creased? If so, it doesn't matter at all and over time they will drop out a lot, especially with the modelling light on and won't affect anything

:plusone: that's the diffuser - it won't make any notiable difference that it has a couple of creases in it.
 
I'm talking about a pop up softbox that you put items in to take pictures of.

It comes with three backgrounds, Red, White (pictured) and black but they are all creased as they fold into a small pouch so that they are easily transportable.

How can I get the creases out of the three inclueded backgrounds

Sounds like is it a light tent such as the Lastolite Cubelite or a product photography background, rather than a softbox?

A softbox usually attaches to the flash and is a light modifier.

Ah, a light tent.

In that case, no idea. I would try (and I'll take no responsibility for this) ironing it through a wet cloth on a low/med heat. Not sure how the steam would affect it though. Maybe try it on a corner and see what happens?

Or strech it out somehow and hang it up in the bathroom when you have the shower running?
 
i got one of those too..

i dont think itd be possible to iron to be honest, the sides maybe but the back you wont be able to press against a surface. i havent used mine yet but i'll let you know if i figure anything out.
