Hey everyone,

im after some help. Im applying for a uni course at Bournemouth Arts Institute, I have spoken to one of the lecturers who was really helpful and has told me to apply for the fda in photographic practises which is great news but its all dependant on portfolio....now im really worried. They want 20 'finished' images in a portfolio. I have no idea what images to include and my post processing if not the best so as far as 'finished' goes does that just mean what i call finished? I have mainly taken portraiture shots which isnt very varied?

:help: me please!! Has anyone been through this process and know what images to include?

Go onto the PPS website and look at the section which covers licentiateship. Follow the links and you'll find an interactive programme designed to help people build their portfolio for their assessment.

Obviously the level will be a lot higher, but it should give you some good guidelines as to how to put one together.

.... Sod it, I'm feeling generous! :D :

I've applied for Leeds (college of art), Salford and manchester met.

My tutors been in his job for 10+ years now and he's said students who take work presented well, say in a portfolio folder, get on fine. It's the ones who take no pride in their work that don't bode well. Remember, it's to get into University. They aren't expecting top class work, thats why your applying - to improve.

For leeds i was asked to complete a mini project and send 4 chosen shots to them (brief was simply 'Identity', Man Met asked me to upload 10 shots to a blogger account and Salford haven't got back to me yet (im assuming they'll go straight to interviews due to it being a new course)

I've also applied to Leeds CoA and had the same response, I applied to Leeds City and Huddersfield and both went straight to interview with a portfolio.
