Downloading raw, sorry about another raw thread. I took some photos in raw today and cant view them or load them into cs4. I have done a search on this and seen i had to download a canon codec which i done but still unable to do anything with these files. what am i doing wrong

thank for any help
 
I always edit the RAW files in DPP and then export to CS4, it will load the efited file into CS4 as a tiff file :thumbs:
 
cheers, the problem with that is i have lost the disc that came with camera since i got my new laptop. and cant find it on canon website to download, so need another way
 
Download DNG converter from Adobe. Converts my 5D2 raws so I can use ARC with CS3, may solve your problem, but still a pain in the butt.
 
CS4 should be able to open your RAW files in Bridge and ACR. If not, you need to update your ACR to the latest version. It's what I had to do when I bought my latest camera a couple of months ago, and it all works fne now.
 
As already said, you need to download the correct version of converter for your camera. All available on the CS4 web site.

Just open up CS4 then clcik on 'help' then 'updates', it will then downlaod and install so everything is up to date, no need for dng or to go rooting round on web sites looking for anything.
