just had a last minute request to do a local shoot as the photographer has rang in sick., problem is i have lent out my flash units. the shoot is indoor can i get away with using the onboard flash?
Ask to view the hall first and find out what kind of shots they want - and what sizes - then take some trial shots there at various ISO's and see how they come out.
Whether you can get away with it depends a lot on the size of room etc but personally i'd stand fairly far back (if possible) and shoot long so that the flash is diffused by the time it hits the subject/model. Alternatively seek as much natural light as possible from a window and push the ISO. Good luck
push the ISO a bit maybe and see how it goes, might be an idea to warn them of this? or try and get some from another TOG on here? ask around people are often very generous
