I have just seen a moth in my garden that I have never seen before. There are no pics because it flew at silly speeds!
It was about 1.5" long, the top 2/3 of it's body was a beige colour and very smooth haired. It's tail section was black with cream spots on each side. It had a long proboscis about the same length as it's body. It flew, at high speed, in very straight lines and looked a little like a tiny, drab hummingbird and it hovered to get nectar.
Does anyone have an idea what it may be?
