hey every one looking at buying my first dslr camera is there any tips you can help me with and what to look out for will be mostly taking pictures of cars,sports events etc... thnaks

a quick lens with a large aperture- f1.8 or f2.8 =)

Nikon d300s can shoot upto 9 fps with the extra battery grip, should be plenty for fast moving events, coupled with some fast glass your sorted
