70-200 would be good, although on my flight last week in a plane I used my 17-85 as I didn't think there would be much room to swing the 70-200, it would have been ok in the end though !
I've done a fair bit with a 24-105 and looking back through the exif see that most of them were taken in the 50 to 90-ish range. If you go wide angle you are more likely to catch window reflections. Depending on the heli, you may also get the blades in which personally I find don't add anything to the picture and I end up cropping/cloning out.
Keep the lens close to the window, using your fingers to steady it against the glass and preventing the lens from touching it. Wrapping fingers around helps keep out reflections. Wear all dark clothing. Keep your non-viewfinder eye open so it can see the ground and horizon to help prevent air sickness. On a 10 minute flight though, it probably won't be a problem....... ???
Thanks for advice all.
Don't have an 24-105 - nearest is 14- 85 which I think won't have the reach.
Think my choice is either my 70-200, 2.8 or 55-200.
