I have a shot very similar ... ok, no I dont, mine is just a blur!

Red Panda is very cute, looks like it could stand a sharpen, or is that just because its so fluffy!

I have been trying since last year to get a shot of a goldfinch something always went wrong and they came out disapointing.
I set up a perch near our feeder put the camera on a tripod, made a cup of tea and and waited
I think your'e right Ian, the panda is not quite sharp.
The light was very poor, it was a very dark day.
I was borrowing the wifes 100-400L with my 40D and was on ISO 1600 and a low shutter speed and was at 400mm so was lucky to get a reasonable shot.

Very nice pics and lovely compositions Pete ... ... could do with a little more attention to sharp focussing in camera imhgo (I am not sure the eyes are quite sharp ?) ... and I think you have just ever so slightly exaggerated the saturation in them ... :shrug:

Venomator did you mean the eyes on the butterfly and the Panda?
It does look like I missed the focus. I have been getting into butterflies with the macro lens but its a bugger getting everything in focus if the wings are slightly tilted upwards
