Hide clamp for Velbon Ultrastick L50?

Hi i'm having trouble tracking down a hide clamp for this monopod.

Velbon even say their own hide clamp isn't great with it (doh)

i think part of the problem is the foam stuff around the handle

anyone found any solutions?
