High-end bridge cameras: Sony RX10, Panasonic FZ1000 etc

I'm HOPING it's sub £2,000 but expecting it to be over (at launch), dropping a bit at the end of summer.

I'm also HOPING that my iii lasts until the v IS sub 2!!!

Of course, IF Fuji come up with an equivalent single zoom, a fresh option opens up.

He says it's the same lens but it's quite clearly a different focal range from his picture
Also looks like the flash is gone and a rather new body design

TFS - that’s weird about the lens isn’t it. I wonder if it’s just a rebadging of the same thing?

Is that on the cards? Sounds intriguing...

Not as far as I know - just wishful thinking on my part!

Since Sony have done it, albeit for a smaller sensor, it's obviously possible but not yet been done. Closest is a pair of lenses but even then, you lose a little at the wide end (18-135 + 100-400).

£2200 ouch, just had an email from Leica too, for the bargain price of £6500 you can have the SL3-P + 24-70....at this point all manufacturers are taking the P.

Yes agreed unfortunately... according to one site the $ price is exactly the same as if you inflation adjust the launch price of the Mk4 but that is not much comfort! TBF almost everything else apart from the lens and sensor has been improved and they were already very good... Don't think I'll be in a massive rush to find £2.2k though - probably wait a bit and try for a cheap(er!) import.

Look on the bright side; those who can't resist the new shiny toys could be adding their current models to the s/h market bringing those prices down.

£2200 for a bridge camera. Crazy price

Not cheap, certainly but when you consider that a 600mm f/4 lens is likely to be over £10,000 by itself, the Sony seems like decent value!
