Highlighting and copying

Can someone explain to me how to highlight and copy or drag alot of things at once instead of doing them one at a time I have forgotten.

Surely someone must know it must be so simple but I can't remember which buttons - HELP !!!

Either hold Ctrl while selecting individual files or, select the first file then go to the last file and select while holding Shift.
