Having just realised I am out of A4 paper and having an immediate requirement for some where is the best place to get hold of some? I don't want to pay silly prices but need reasonable quality. Thanks.
 
Obvious suggestion - Jessops? Tescos?
 
Staples?

Thanks guys but I really wanted a hint from someone that has used these papers. Just wasted half a day buying Tesco's "super" gloss paper, returning it because it was garbage and getting their "finest" "super glossy" paper at 250 GSM only to find out that it's garbage as well and I'll have to take that back in the morning too.

Anyone got a recommendation from personal experience please?
 
Staples, PC World and WH Smith generally have big name branded photo paper in stock. I picked some HP super photo paper at PC World a while ago when I was desperate.
 
Buy a quality branded paper - Kodak, Epson, Fuji, Harman. Buy it from a specialist. I didn't realise your demands, sorry. You want the best , get the best brands from specialists, not somewhere that sells Baked Beans or paper clips.

Did you print using the profiles for the paper?
 
staple sometimes have good offers on epson
if you have a cosco nr you kirkland a4 glossy 150 sheets for around £14 and its very good paper
 
Tip - if it is made in Germany or Switzerland you are probably onto a good thing
 
+1 for Costco Kirkland paper
 
If I remember correctly it was Mexico, it's good paper.
 
Ah , yes, Costco- US company , so Mexico - no brainer.
 
I use Photospeed, and have no problems. All
types of paper at reasonable cost.
 
Tesco finest a4 with a Pro9000 mkii using the proper profiles print pretty decent prints . Wouldn't always assume the papers crap just cause *you* cant get decent print lol.

Yes, sorry -I should have been more precise - my prints are usually done on roll paper on my wide format, but smaller stuff I use my R2880 and A3+ paper or sometimes A4 - I use good quality stuff but was caught short unexpectedly and needed some urgently. Seemingly it's best to stay clear of the Tesco stuff!
 
problem with the tesco paper is the amount of ink that is laid down. the backing of the paper is pretty poor but it does dry out and is more than adiquate for snap shots of the family.
 
For a4 I found Costco was best for the Kirkland paper

any bigger than A4 and it was Illford Gallerie (I used Smooth Pearl)
