Yep, lensesforhire.

Super easy, quick and well priced.

Not personally, but StewartR who posts on here runs Lensesforhire LINK ... never seen anything other than praise for his company

Plus one for the positive I've read about Stuart on here aswell as the net.

I've not used him directly, but by chance I was talking to one of my wife's cousins who has hired from them and was very pleased with the price and service received.

Ive hired from Stewart / Lensesforhire and lensfettish. Both companies, the service has been excellent with no problems at all.

Especially with Stewart, they were helpful when I messed up and forgot to return a lens on time, and permitted me to extend the hire, very polite on the phone despite the fact it had taken me several days beyond the end of the hire period to call them and pay for the extended hire

I know if I had been in his shoes, id have been getting a bit anxious as to whether I would get paid or see the lens again as it was my first hire from them :)

Lens for Hire are indeed very good. I have used them a few times and never had any issues.

A word of warning though. I hired L glass from them and subsequently fell in love with them, leading to several months of saving up for my own copies!!

I've never needed to yet, but if there's ever a time then I know where I'm going. Just had a look at the link and realised that I've already been on the site from when I've been googling at times.

I was in his shoes.

Customers do occasionally forget to send lenses back on time. We have procedures in place to deal with that.

I'm not sure what the record for a late return is, but a couple of years ago one of our customers was "sectioned" (i.e. involuntarily committed to a secure psychiatric hospital) whilst he had one of our lenses. Of course we didn't know about this at the time. The lens sat there in his house for several weeks and we were unable to communicate with him. Eventually he was allowed home for a few hours at a time in the company of a carer, and one of the carers packaged up the lens and sent it back to us. We waived the £800+ late fee.

Sooner or later it's a statistical certainty that one of our customers will die whilst hiring one of our lenses. It hasn't happened yet - the closest call we've had (that I'm aware of) was when a customer was airlifted out of Silverstone with appendicitis. But if and when it does happen, I'm sure it will be an administrative nightmare.

I wonder how long it will be before someone "dies" with your most expensive lens on hire!!
