I don't see why not... what makes you doubtful? My Pro Stop (Lee version) fits my Lee holder fine so I assume the Hitech version will fit the Hitech holder..

The Hitech filter holder says it can use spacers to hold 4mm filters and I didn't know what the basic filter size was - is it 3mm as standard?

1.5mm iirc

Lee is 2mm

BUT the '3mm' being quoted is the gasket size, not the filter thickness, ie, the rubber/whatever-it-is seal that goes against the body of the filter holder to stop stray light getting in from the sides. The filter itself will be 1.0-1.5mm thick.

The difference between the two, in this case, is down to the difference in the offset from the filter base of the first slot, rather than the slot thickness.

The only other incompatibility between the two filter holders is Lee's gel holders, which are close to the full 2mm thickness, and thus won't fit in a hitech filter holder without modification.
