I'm after a ND Grad - Preferably 2 stop for general use I think.

I have a few Kood [or possibly Cokin] soft grads & they do leave a nasty colour cast. I'm hoping the Hitech are better from a colour cast point of view but that price of £22 still seems a bit on the cheap side - I obviously understand the get-what-you-pay-for thing ;) Is that correct regarding the colour cast??
 
I used to have hitech grads and had no issues at all with them :thumbs:
 
Go for GND 100mm x 150mm just in case for future proof, for ultra wide angle lenses.
 
I think they have 4x5" not 4x6", not sure, forget about 85mm, i have those P-series filters and i want to sell them locally since 2007.
 
I had the same question when I upgraded from Cokin to Hitechs a few years back. No issues at all with colour casts on the Hitechs. IMO they're a good deal, and WAAAY better than Cokin. £22 does sound like a really good deal. I got mine from Teamwork Digital (http://www.teamworkphoto.com) in London and I'm sure they were more like £120 for a set of 3.
 
I prefer the larger 100mm filters, the 85mm are always cheaper than these. But going back into the search from the link, the three-pack filter sets of the 85's are under £60 with Amazon.

Then no doubt i recommend to go with 100mm filters, forget about 85mm ones.
There is very cheap filter of a brand i heard about first time, i bought 2 filters from them, one is just solid ND and one GND, both are glass, cheap, so that i bought them to have glass filters, the mistake was, that GND is coming as horizontal grading, i thought it will be vertical grading, this was the only issue, i didn't test the optical quality yet, so do you want to try it by yourself?

If you are interested I've a Hitech 100mm system (modular holder, three HE grads and a ten stopper) I really don't use and could put up in classifieds. No wide-angle adapter though, I'm afraid

Yes from what I can gather it does the same way as any other adaptor.

Many thanks but I'm not sure I'd have much use for your complete set & wouldn't want you to split it really. I certainly don't need the ten stopper. What price though out of interest...??
 
what 3 grads are they Ian and are they 125mm or 150mm please

would a 100mm grad prevent vignetting on a 16-35 lens wide open??

"They" have become "it" rather worryingly. I was sure I had three of these but can only find the 0.9HE grad which is the 100mm by 125mm size. I've found the ten-stopper (3mm gasket) and the three slot holder, 52mm adapter (I think there is a 72mm around too) with polariser ring. I'll pop this lot up in the Classifieds after another search for the missing filters.
