Anyone tried the Hitech 10 stop 'Pro Stopper'?

Seems to get similar results to the Lee Big Stopper and is half the price?

The original Hitechs were terrible. The Pro Stop has infrared polution problems that can result in uncorrectable colour casts. There's a new Pro Stop IR that claims to have addressed this, but I've not tried it.

The IR problem is because the dyes used in resin filters cannot block it effectively - even Lee has failed to manage it. Glass is much better, like the Lee Big Stopper and every other 8-10 stops ND filter that I'm aware of.

I'm not so sure the newer ones are much better to be honest. I tried one recently and the cast was horrible.

Oh :( Was it made of resin or glass? If it's still resin, IR pollution is likely to be around.

Lee told me how hard they tried to make a ten stopper out of resin, and failed. If they can't do it, nobody can. Lee's glass Big Stopper is made for them by a specialist manufacturer.

No it was one of the newer resin ones not the new IRND. I haven't had a chance to play about with one of those yet.
