hitech wideangle filter holder vs cokin p series wideangle

Hi - I noticed the Cokin P series wideangle filter holder has only one slot in it to hold a filter. However, the Hitech wide angle filter holder for the same size filters has 2 slots.

Does anyone know how the hitech one works on a 10-22 EF-S lens? Does the fact that it has two slots mean that it can not go as wide as the cokin p series holder without vignetting?

Never owned Hitech holder - just hitech filters.

I did 'cut' an old 3 slot Cokin P holder down to just two slots in the hope it would work but it still showed up on the wide end of a Sigma 10-20 so I ended up getting a single slot wide P Cokin holder which works fine.

Not sure if that helps.

Even the 1 slot Cokin will vignette at 10mm - the holder will show in the frame.

that's interesting. So it can carry 4 normally, but can then be reversed to carry just the one on a wideangle

hi, the super wide angle aspect of this lens is more suitable to the lee foundation kit holder which also is suitable for the hitech 100mm filter set, but with the lee system you will need the wide angle adaptor of the diameter of your particular lens

I have used Hitech filters on a Cokin wide holder on the above lens and still had issues at 10mm and 11mm. I have now switched to Lee, with wide adaptor without any issues. Before this I had resorted to blu tac using the Hitech filter, without any holder, but there is the chance of them falling off!
