Hmmmm a prime lens

Hi all,

Just purchased a second hand Minolta 2.8 28mm, unfortunatly no paperwork with the lens but it does look in fantastic condition. Just wondering if some of you would be able to shed some light on this lens for and how I could get the best from it i.e settings etc.

Older lenses sharpen up from ƒ/5.6 ~ ƒ/11. The link shows 4m on the focus ring and if you set it at that with the aperture at ƒ/11 you'll be set for hyperfocal focusing, with everything from under 2m to infinity in focus.

Thanks guys both links provide a good read and help shed some light. I'm hoping the weather is better tomorrow so I can go out and use it.
