I use a program called incredimail I had 53 emails coming through only 2 had come through and the 3rd was stuck on 9% I close the program now when I click get mail I get the message

-ERR [IN-USE] Unable to lock maildrop: Mailbox is locked by POP server

No emails will come through !!!

Anyone have any ideas:bang:

Regards MD

Only one client can connect to a POP account at a time. If your desktop mail client and 'any other' (iphone for example) client connect at the same time one of them will be locked out.
Sounds like you have another trying to connect at the same time. Possible?

You didn't close the mail program properly so a lock file was left in place. You have to delete that lock file to use mail again. You need access to that file system to remove the lock file. It might be something incredimail have to do for you.

Or if you're lucky as mentioned above it will time out and the lock file will be removed automagically :)

Never had tried to connect to the email from any other machine.. Just turned the pc off and on again.. just incase it makes a difference:lol:

Off to try the mail now..!!

Wait for the connection to timeout on the pop server

Thanks for the esponces guys It now says 1 out of 57 0% received :(

I will leave the program running to see what happens

As mentioned above, wait until it times out, can be up to 15 mins I believe.

40 mins still the same 0% Received..:(

Before you panic it could just be the mail server playing up.

I'd forget about it for now and try again in the morning :)

The other thing you could do is find out if there is a webmail option for the server you are using. if it is your ISP try looking at their web site to see if they have a web mail link.

Get rid of incredimail is the simple answer, it is nothing but bloated spyware and it is also known for screwing with your mail/computer.

I have to agree. I can't think of a singe good reason to have it - and many reasons not to have it.
