HMS Bronington

HMS Bronington, a TON class minesweeper of the Royal Navy and for a whilst Prince Charles ( now obviously King Charles) was the skipper This mahogany-hulled minesweeper was one of the last of the "wooden walls" (wooden-hulled naval vessels), sadly in a state of disrepair in Docks in Merseyside

Yup. Sad.

My dad served mostly on minesweepers and submarine chasers, as he called them, in WW2 so this picture gave me pause for thought.

Lets hope someone or some organisation with deep pockets takes an interest

That’s so sad great ships, served on Hubberston for a while. I vaguely remember reading about a fund raising initiative to save her some years ago.
