I mixed the developer fresh but the fixer was premixed, I placed both in Large volume stabilizing bath.I wouldn't leave it too long, in the stop bath it would be fine for several hours.
You'd probably want to avoid the emulsion degrading from drying out and being rehydrated, or from the chemicals precipitating out.
What is the reason for this question? It's not usually something people consider.
Phew,Oh that would be fine, I was expecting many hours or even days. I often leave the stop in for 10 mins while I tidy up and sort myself out.
I rinsed it twice Stephen, a water stop bath.If you've just developed it, and done nothing else, then the developer will continue working until exhausted. If you expose the film to light, the undeveloped part will naturally darken in aforesaid light. So keep it in the tank. Which seems to make it a pointless exercise to me, especially as I'd expect to get crud from evaporated developer on tank and reel.
This doesn't answer the question though.
