holiday lightweight monopod/tripod

Hi Guys long time no post.

Im going to america next month and am taking my camera gear with me, im just wondering what opinions you have onthe monopds with legs that make it into a tripod.

It wouldnt be my main tripod back home as i have a big bulky giotto which is great just not idea for travelling.

any suggestions welcome on a good cheap lightweight tripod are welcome, it will be to hold my d90, biggest lens now being the kit lens and possibly flash.

I'm in a similar position looking for a tripod for a trip away, but I don't think there is such a thing as a lightweight, stable and cheap tripod, you need to choose 2 out of 3.

There are quite a few threads about it already, I'm probably going to go for a Gitzo or a Benro, but they aren't cheap.

Your right, none of the good light ones are cheap. I've just bought myself a Benro Travel Angel to go the the USA with later this year.
Now that trip looks in doubt
