Im wondering if there is a basic rule of thumb for setting up a studio lighting set.
I have plenty of room to play, got the D-Lite 4 kit, light meter, decent camera. (will be getting backdrops as soon as funds allow) Whats better, Paper Rolls, Vinyl, Muslim clothes etc...
Ive been playing with my lights and had a few issues. Should i be looking at a specific F/Stop, Shutter Speed when using lighting? If so what should i be aiming for. Should they be set close up to the subject or about 5 foot back etc..
With the D-Lites im using these radio Triggers

What i seem to get happening at the moment is random flashing of the heads... grrr (any idea on this one?, tried with the room lights on and off and still the same)
any advise appreciated.
