Hi

I'm hoping someone may be able to give me some friendly advice?
My 10 year old daughter has started a blog regarding out two dogs. She has loved takung pictures for the blog and for the dogs social media groups :) unfortunately the pictures arent allways the best due to pictures being taken on the pgone or on an old camera. I idealy would like to get her a semi decent camera as she seems to havr the bug and I would love to encourage her.

The kind of things I need to think about is ease of use. We walk in woodland areas so sometimes we are in sunshine other times we are in shade. The dogs don't allways sit for a photo so we would love to take good action shots. Also being able to take good pictures of dogs in the distance would be a bonus.
Any suggestions as to what camera to look at would be greatly appreciated also advice if there is anywhere that may sell good quality 2nd hand cameras??

Can't see your location from you profile so hard to advice any local shops to you...

It's so many cameras to choose from. Does she want a DSLR camera? or something smaller?

Im based in Fife Scotland just outside Edinburgh.
As a complete newbie I am unsure what kind of camera to get it's a complete minefield
 
Hi pete was looking to spend no more than £300. Not even sure if I can get anything in that price range? Obviously as she is only 10 and just seems to be getting interested if I can find something semi decent for much less then happy daddy :)
 
You can pick up something like a canon 20D + 55-250mm for around £200, the advantage with a DSLR is no shutter lag, so she'll get a better hit rate of the dogs in focus.
 
Thats a decent budget.
I don't think that I'd be getting a 10year old a DSLR. - these things are large & heavy.
A bridge camera would possibly be my main focus for her.
 
Thanks again guys I will look to see what is out there in the bridge camera department. Hopefully save a fair amount of penies also :)
