Heard a commotion in the grass and found this hornet attacking a hoverfly.....
The attack begins:

Compond eyes and antenna quickly discarded (lower left of image)

Violent end for the hoverfly:

Those large jaws start to remove the head:

Taking off with the prize - It was not until I viewed the image, that I noticed the second body on the floor. This location, was obviously its own killing field!
