Horse in the snow

Went for a slightly different look, wider cropped. It was so hard to get sharp focus on the horse with the snow flakes. Am reasonably pleased. C&C please.

The second one is composed better but your snow is very grey.

like the shot with snowflakes - very atmospheric.
Personally I prefer the first.
As you say a little soft, but does add to general weather contition and atmosphere of pic.
Maybe would have worked better from slight off centre angle to take in a little more of the body.
Also not sure if would have been better to have the legs in shot, although I like the more intimate feel being closer in.
