Hot Pixels advice please

I was doing some long indoors exposure on my 550D and started to notice some hot pixels. Ran some experiments then, and this morning when the camera had cooled down and they are still there starting at about 1s exposure time and very noticable at 5s and upwards.

Difficult to post on here as they only stand out at monitor size but I can easily see about 4 of them and as I zoom in I can pick out a lot more.

Still under warrenty for another 9 months but is this normal, should I go to Jessops to ask them to check it or should I just monitor periodically to ensure it gets no worse?

If they are noticable at 1 second then I'd get it sent back to Canon. My 5D2 went back for a faulty rear screen bt I informed them about the hot and stuck pixels. They replaced the sensor as well.

Tried that, seemed like a lot of people had a good reaction.
I got a reaction...it got worse...Lol
More red spots, blue spots, the odd green one. Very pretty but I think I will get bored of looking.

As I say still well under warranty, bought from Jessops (less than 3 months ago) so I will press hard for a direct replacement.

Well I'd try it again - even if it gets worse it will help your case with Jessops ;-)

Tried again but still there.

Phoned Jessops and they are going to replace with new one.
Very helpful service.

Phil take a cf card with you and do a 30 secs exposure in bulb mode with a body cap in. check the image as best you can, the odd one isn't a problems.

My 5D2 looked like a case of multicoloured chickenpox before the sensor was replaced. Now I cant find any bad pixels so I assume it was remapped after the new sensor was fitted.

Been having fun all morning doing that at various speeds, ISO's, apertures, noise reduction ON/OFF.

Definately there and consistant. I think I like the green ones best...but blue is growing on me. The red ones are just so old style.
