I've joined forces with seven other international Hot Rod Photographers to form the Hot Rod Photographers Alliance. Inspired by Capa, Cartier-Bresson and their friends and the creation of Magnum, we recognised that a collective of photographers can be greater than the sum of its parts. A global collective of photographers working towards to same goal of capturing the vibe of the coolest hobby on the planet, Hot Rodding.

We're going to collaborate on some projects and maybe even exhibitions and books together, I'm very excited about it :)

Is Neal Reed [Retro Photo] in on this then?

Oh, upon looking at your site, I see he is.

If this was facebook, I would be clicking the like button.

Huge like.
Enormous fan of the sport. Honky Tonkin', Green Onions, the Gasser Circus. Slingshots, flatheads.. the lot.

Perhaps you guys can get me out of the stands and down in the action!

Thanks for the support all :D I think the Twitter thing is the other way round again now LOL :)

Shuttermog, to get trackside you need a letter from a magazine to say that you have been commissioned to cover the event, the different tracks have different approval processes in place but it's quite straight forward. It's pretty noisy down there :)

I usually get down to Shakespeare County - next even I'll be at is the September one.
I'm used to the noise - dad is a rally driver and maniac landrover specialist (the kind that braves dakar). We got banned from billing showgrounds for a few years for having something way over the noise limit..
...Or perhaps I could persuade a friend to let me in their pit crew. At least I could get in the fire up lanes then!

might try and come along to the NSRA Hot Rod Supernationals 2011, the Hayride sounds good too and only down the road shame about no public access :(

Get a weekend pass! :)
