Hot Shoe Mic

Yes
I don't do much in the way of video, but after playing around with a trail camera in the garden, I've purchased a cheap microphone that fits onto the hot shoe of my Fuji X-T3. The only problem is it protrudes too far back, so if I want to look at the EVF it gets in the way.

Is there a "gadget" that sits on the hot shoe and would allow me to slide forward about an inch or so, or maybe move it off to one side?

How about an old-school flash bracket that connects to the tripod mount?

Cheap as chips, you might even find one for a quid in the rummage bin of your local camera shop, if you still have one

"Local Camera shop"... Were lucky that to have a local supermarket down here in deepest darkest Wiltshire

You can also get a sort of Y shape thing with two cold shoes on it, one for the mic and another for a light, they raise it up a good few inches.
