Hot shoe mount tripod thingy....

so you want to piggyback your compact camera to the hotshoe on top of your DSLR?

not seen one but that might do the job. never occurred that someone would want to!
and it'll be a 1/4" thread I think on a normal tripod

the larger 3/8" thread is for tripod-head mounts

I think the thing above exists to piggyback a dslr on top of a dlsr
 
I went to Whitby last week to see the red arrows, i was shooting with the above, and gave the s100 to the lady i was with to shoot 1080p video on widest setting, came out ok surprisingly.

Thought adding it to the camera i was using would be pretty good, as it would be pointing at everything i was shooting at.

yes, i think its the thread though on the compact, smaller than a normal dlsr one
 
Ive just tried the compact on my monopod, and it fits, pretty sure last time it wouldnt , doh !

so the 1st thing i posted on ebay, would probably work :)
 
I know they make them as I've seen them once before :).

A popular use for them is attaching things like GoPro's to your camera so it is videoing exactly what your photographing opposed to needing 4 arms lol.
