Hot Shoe Spirit Level

Does anyone have / use a hotshoe mounted spirit level they would recommend or are they all much of a muchness (Can't see how anyone can really add value or a point of difference)? Until I can afford a D300 or some other bit of luxury with one built in I am considering my options!

Their a couple of ££ on ebay for reasonable small ones. Might get one for mine for when it's tripod mounted however I rarely shoot straight on with a tripod either :/

I just binned my cheapo ebay digital level as it was a few degrees out, every time I used it my horizons were on the ****. Instead I fitted a gridded focussing screen and might look at the seculine digital ones.

what about the jessops one at about £10? As they are only that price I will suggest one of my grandchildren gets me one for Christmas. I used to have one and found it really usefull but it got sold with all my bits and pieces when I got rid of all my film stuff.

I used the Seculine one on my 450D. it was very good and very accurate

Never used one never needed to, practice.

I usually balance a bottle of bear on mine and wait for it to settle before taking the shot!!

Have you tried using the focus points for levelling? Or what about live view does it have a grid overlay?
