Can you get a transmitter to go on the hot shoe that will send your pics straight to the computer. If not what is the best way.
Basically when im shooting in my mini studio i want the pic to come up on my pc screen rather then transferring them all over once im done.

Eyefi works well, and the big manufacturers do dedicated wireless file transmitters but they are £££s. At the cheaper end you can shoot tethered with a cable (usually USB)

Sorry can you explain 'shoot tethered'

shoot tethered. Plug your camera, via a USB lead straight into a bit of software (like LR) capable of receiving the images directly. Works great. But be aware if you shoot Nikon it does not write images to the card as well

Run a cable from your computer to your camera, they are usually USB, that is called shooting tethered, as the shot comes into the camera it fires down the cable and into the computer, ideal for checking fine focus as the bigger monitor makes it much easier than using the LCD display on your camera.
Thanks for that. didn't want to sound stupid just wanted to clarify. ;)

Probably a good idea to let people know what camera model you are using. Some cant tether or use Eye Fi cards.

No problem, I should have made myself clearer.

If you just want to check focus etc eyefi works a treat, save raw files to your CF card, small jpegs to the SD card, they'll transmit a lot quicker that way, then when you finish the shoot use the CF card to download the full size raw files to edit.

does any one know how to set it up if im using a usb cable. Im using LR5 and my camera is connected to pc but my slr screen is just flashing 'busy'
