G'day all.
Anyone have issues with hotshoe mounted radio triggers on Canon cameras? I used to use Skyports on a 5D and 1D4, sometimes fine, sometimes would stop triggering randomly during a shoot. To the point where I had to switch back to a sync cable a few times.
Now I have a couple of 5D3 bodies, and am using the Godox X1 trigger. Again, usually it's fine, but during a headshot session over the weekend it would stop firing randomly. Not as bad as the Skyport was, but enough to be annoying and look rather unprofessional.
I'm sure it's the connection between trigger and hotshoe, as pressing the test button always works. Trigger and light are no more than a couple of unobstructed metres apart.
I have thought triggers don't seem to fit as perfectly as they should. Anyone else experience similar?
