How can you tell how many pics on your pc?

Is there a quick way to find out how many pics you have on your hard drive?

If so, could someone tell me please, I have bridge if there's a way to do it in bridge.

Start/search '.jpg' or Start/search 'CR2' or whatever the pic file type is.

You could do a search for '.jpg' or a RAW file type you're interested in finding, '.NEF' for Nikon files for example. Specify where you want to search, My Pictures, My Documents, a whole Hard Drive etc.

The same goes for any file type you're interested in. I occasionally have to do a '.doc' search for hard to find Word Documents.

It will find any jpegs on you PC, not just the ones you have taken though depending on where you search.

Download Picasa 3 for free, that will find all pictures on your PC and displays total files in each directory.

just to confuse matters lol.. if you want to search for files that all start with the same prefix across 2 or more file types..

for example to include:

canon jpg - img_2934.jpg
canon raw - img_3842.cr2

you can search for:

img*.*

so that it searches for anything starting with "img" then anything after that and any file type, where * is a wildcard.
