How committed are you?

great read mate and would love to do a trip with you one day

md:thumbs:

Ludlow eh? It could be arranged ;)

How fit are you? Do you have any experiance hill walking? Do you have the gear?

I've stood right up against a waist high concrete wall about 8 feet from racing cars doing about 150mph at Spa, if that counts? Most of the professional motorsport togs on here will probably have been in some much worse places, but that's as close and as dangerous as I've ever been.

Well I'm not sure if it's the same kid of thing but ... I stare Agoraphobia in the face and try and beat it every time I leave the house with my camera. I put my emotional and mental well-being on the line in the name of Photography. I am soon to embark on a little portrait 'project', it will be my most terrifying effort to date. Meeting strangers and taking their portrait.

It seems simple to some, but my heart feels like it is pounding right out of my chest just thinking about it. Lets not even talk about panic/anxiety attacks. Imagine what it's like in the moments just before. Having had a heart attack already at the age of 30, I can only hope this is actually helping to strengthen my heart

When I finally get my mobility back (and I am determined to do so!), you can bet your bottom dollar that I will do what ever it takes to get that shot. Wading in water p to my neck will be nothing but fun :D

Im doing 2 weddings next year, which for me is scary as never done one before, but also really looking forward to the experience.

Oh and off at 2am tomorrow morning to head to the Lake District for one day (400+ miles) then around Scotland for the rest of the week. We cant wait and should be fun. Getting up early and lots of walking is what I love about photography. Oh I did I mention we are camping. Hope the weather is good:D

This thread has inspired me to get up for sunrise tomrrow ... but thats not as comitment as I'd have been in the summer. :D

I think thats Immensely brave considering Jo, good on you , hope it goes well.

totally uncommited. if I can't get the shot while being warm and dry I can't be arsed getting it. I don't get up early either.

Furthest I've been for a shot?

'bout 40 metres down :D

lol, ok, I didn't take them, but that's my rare head in the water, and that Moray was awesome.

I went wading out into the middle of a ford to take pictures of ducks...who promptly saw me coming and swam off.

I waited for hours in the rain for a rainbow because I thought there was a good chance. I was wrong.....

I have camped solo overnight in the winter on dartmoor on a few occasions, sometimes waking up with ice on my tent. I have regular bad nights camping, I dont sleep well in my bed, nevermind a one man tent on uneven ground :P

I stayed for a few hours after sunset in December on Dartmoor to do some start trail shots. I didnt have a torch and I had to walk the 3 miles home in pitch blackness.

I got up at 3.30 in the morning in the summer to shoot mist by moonlight...

I got up at 4 to cycle in the dark for an hour to reach a spot for sunrise.

I drove with a friend from Devon to the Isle of Skye in one day.

I ran through a bog to get a shot of a rainbow on Skye

My parents think I am mad and obsessed

So pretty dedicated :P

I've just bettered my original dedication proof....

Today, I had a job photographing a swimming competition in Stockport (photos to come soon..). Now then, I had the option of staying in last night, getting a good nights sleep and getting up at 6.30am to get there for 8.30am.....or I could have stayed at a friends place 5 minutes walk from the pool, however I would also have to endure a night out on the town which would result in a hangover and little sleep.....tough choice.....so I went with the latter :D
