Hi All
I have a web address ( with one.com ) my year is coming up and now having to pay for the next year. I know I need to pay for the address to retain it but I have not done much with it and could not get on with the software ( more me than them)

Q. is there somewhere I can park it for now or a host with some easy design software.

Q. what is DNS

sorry if this bit vague

DNS: Domain name server

Just take out a hosting package with any host you want and either transfer IN the domain from them or transfer OUT from one.com

Simple

I pay for mine for two years at a time and get a Nominet certificate of registration.

I don't think it actually needs to be hosted by anyone.

Mine are all with 123REG and I have them set up to web forward to my WEBS.COM sites but I don't see why there would be any requirement to do this just to retain ownership of the domain name.

Just paying for it every time it is up for renewal should be enough.

As others have said, the domain name belongs to you and in order to keep it, you just need to pay the renewall fee when its due

Ive got a domain with One.com and they usually send you an email and a letter around 30 days before its due to expire asking if you want to renew and state a renewall amount to pay.

It appears to be one of them letters that 'if you dont reply, we will renew automatically and send you the bill' types so you probably dont need to do anything anyway

Hey gary
Just looked at your site, could I ask how you done your front page.
I remeber seeing it before on a sports thread (kipax) I like the images on the carousel.

Cheers gary, had a look but means nothing to me at the moment. it may well do in the next month or two.

sorry another of question, cano you buy these bits already writing or duplicate and just changes the bit where the images go?

Java scripts are mostly free, the one i used was anyway.

As with most javascripts you insert the code where you want it to appear and then alter the code to suit your image path, gallery size, transitions etc, etc.
