How do I transfer one album off my iTunes onto my iPad. I have ipod and do not want all my music on iPad, just a few albums for when I am in bath etc .. tried it tonight and could only see option to transfer it all over.

Edit: I download the albums on laptop so the music is on there before it transfers to my iPod. It's auto syncs all music to iPod, but not to phone or iPad.

When you connect your ipad it comes up as a different device so you tell itunes what you want to upload, it will still upload your ipod as it always has done.

We have numerous devices connected to our main pc, iPad, iPhones, iPods and the pc remembers all the different profiles, so no worries trying to do what you want. Then as normal you can choose to sync just a few albums or the whole lot. I'm your case a few select albums

if you press and hold the shift key when you open i-tunes, it gives you the option to create a new library. You can then have seperate libraries for your ipad and ipod

Connect the iPad to the laptop. Click on iPad in iTunes, go to the Music tab and click 'Selected playlists, artists, albums and genres'.

You can then cherry pick what you want loaded onto the iPad by ticking the relevant boxes. Probably the easiest way is going to be to create a/some specific playlists for the iPad only.

Thank you, I see where I was going wrong last night. I panicked when it ticked the box to sync and saw sync all, did not realise I had time to just select what I wanted thought I was going to send whole itunes to ipad. :)
