How do I recalibrate my screen?

I have a Hanns-G HW191D monitor but I havent a clue how to calibrate or recalibrate my screen. Does it also depend on your gfx card and connection?

Using an ATI Radeon HD3800 Series GFX card connected using VGA.

You need a monitor calibration system, such as a Huey, Spyder or i-One system.
Have a look at the Colour Confidence web site

These devices with their software will calibrate you monitor for you. The prices of these systems reflect the amount of functionality each give.

Calibration takes into account both the monitor and the graphics card.

i use gretag macbeth eye one it works v well
