How do I remove external editing apps from Lightroom?

I have a few apps in the external editing that I don't use anymore and want to remove from the list, if I go to Lightroom > Preferences > External Editing I can bring up the apps I want to remove from the drop down box and I can click the button that says "clear", however the app doesn't delete and is still there in the external editing list. How do I remove these please?

Select the app you want to remove from the drop down list
Then open the same app list again, but this time look at the bottom of the list and you will see a delete option.
