how do people carry their filter holders

It keeps all my filters safe (I'm assuming your system filters will fit in this, and it stays in my bag when walking and clips onto my bag when shooting meaning all my filters are right by my side when i need them.
Keeps 0.3 0.6 0.9 hard and soft grads, polariser & big stopper and I've never had to worry about them not being safe!

I keep my filter holder in its own little pouch that it came with. Not that the holder really needs much protection!
 
I carry two Hitech holders in a padded mini tablet case I got from WH Smiths ages ago. A bit big for just one holder unless you've got something else that could go in with it, but it's worth looking beyond photography gear.

I've been looking for something that will carry both filters and the filter holders, without being too bulky. There seems to be lots of filter pouches (that only hold the filter) but not many that hold both, and the few that do are usually fairly bulky.

Will update on what its like when it arrives
 
You won't get better than the Lowepro pouch imo. My Nisi v5 setup fits great in that, the pockets for the filters i cut and folded paper into each, labelled each piece of paper then slide the filters into them. It means i can see what's in each pocket location and pull the paper out with the filter in it without touching the filter / polariser itself. If i didn't explain that well let me know and i'll post an image up.

Whats the polariser like? I've seen the firecrest version. This seems fairly similar.

Arrived today. Its just what I was looking for. Looks like you've already decided to go with the Lowepro? I was also considering the Lowepro but think that would have been too big to fit in my bag.
I've currently got the following in my case/pouch:
4 x 100mm filters
1 x 77mm circular polariser
Filter holder with 77mm ring adaptor attached
82mm ring adaptor (in separate section to filter holder, could put it in same pouch as filter holder).

Will fit another 1 or 2 filters in it. Can measure the dimensions of it, if of used to you?
 
Why not just use the case that comes with it, looks more robust than any other case I've seen?

Another vote for this pouch. Mine houses 10 filters, filter holder, cleaning fluid and clothes and stays attached to my tripod via a small strap so the filters are always at hand (y)

I've been through several solutions and I now have a Mindshift Filter Hive. It would take 6 100x150mm filters and 6 round filters up to 82mm (I think) in a removable insert, plus has room for the holder. With modification, I use it for filters (some of which are in a Mindshift Filter Hive Mini, which is inserted where the holder might go) and 3 adapter rings.

I use a hard generic sat nav case, purchased from Amazon, to hold the Lee filter holder. With the slots rearranged so that the brass peg stick out from the top or bottom, the filter holder with 105mm polariser attached and even 100x150mm filers inserted, can be placed straight back into this hard case.

well thanks very much for sharing this... mine came today. A little bigger than I was expecting but it will carry everything I need too plus more. now ive got to see if it will fit in my bag, probably not haha
