And I just read it still only charges one battery at a time, not 2 simultaneously..
Whats the point?
 
Mad, yes.

Supply vs demand tbh.

I still feel a little unwell about the cost of a kirk L bracket I just bought... but I know it's the same thing.
 
it says Nikon on it and some folk are daft enough to only buy branded products. Nikon are in business to make money, not value for money products.............

Now that is genuinely bloody daft.
You could just buy another single charger and use two plugs...
 
If you need to charge from a 12V source you might like to consider an inverter from somewhere like Maplins and use your MH18a (and anonther one if you must charge two at a time)

In Nikon's defense it's one of the only chargers I know that actually does a refresh/conditioning cycle. No, I haven't got one and I agree with you all - incredible price. Nor will I get one!

It would need to charge 10 batterys make a cuppa and rub my feat for that price.:lol:

This is an OK product for what I'm using it for. I have a Nikon D200 and wanted to be able to charge two batteries at the same time- This is not the case. It only charges one battery at a time. I probably should have researched and read more information about this charger before making the purchase. I'm going to return this item, it's not a bad product, I want to be able to charge two batteries at the same time. I'm going to use two MH-18's instead. One other thing, you can't refresh EN-EL3e batteries with the MH-19. The car adapter plug is a plus.

Nikon's recommended price for this product is an absolute joke!

As others have mentioned this product charges one battery after another - which is perfect for overnight charging, but not if you need to quickly charge batteries in the field. It is also by no means a travel charger. The thing is HUGE and bulky. Much larger than 2 of the standard D200/D70 chargers - especially surprising given that it doesnt charge two batteries simulataneously.

I got it because I lost my original charger (whcih I still hope to find), and its definitely nice to be able to charge two batteries overnight but definitely would be a letdown had I paid the full recommended price!

Perfect for the person who needs 2 batteries charged. Only thing i see that some may not like is the batteries charge one at a time. But if you just want the luxury of not having to worry about changing batteries after one is charged, this is what you want.

Similarly AC adapters are an annoyance, I wanted one for an E-1/E-3 for timelapse work but quickly gave that up when I found they were £70+. I was dismayed to find the D700 mains adapter was just as bad.

Crazyness. So to buy a couple of batteries, a double charger and an AC adapter would cost as much as a budget camera.
 
Supply and demand, items that dont sell in volume will always cost more.

:thinking: Most I've paid so far for my two is £45.....:naughty: both brand new & UK verions...

The deals are out there if you look for them.. Right time at the right place is also handy... Spose that was my luck when I got them....

It's WEX's mistake - they just haven't read the manual properly.

Nikon's instruction manual says "Batteries are charged in the order of connection. ..... Batteries are charged one at a time"..
 
I have the Nikon MH-22 (it came 'free' with the D3) and that charger DEFINITELY only charges one battery at a time.

Handy enough though.... load 2 batteries when I go to bed.... 2 fully charged batteries when I get up! :clap:
