How do you arrange yours?

Im trying to sort out my photos into easily managable folders but just cant work out the best way to have them.

I shoot both RAW and Jpeg so i have a quick reference of the images.

Ive currently got it setup so for example

"Project Name" > "Raw Images"
"Unedited Jpegs"
"Edited Images" > "Completed TIFF"
"Completed Jpeg"


I just feel i could have it arranged better and feel somthing is missing!

So how do you arrange yours?

Mine go into a simple date taken folder structure (Year\Month\Day) and then I do any further management through Lightroom - I try not to keep multiple copies of the same image (other than photoshoped ones).

ive adopted:

work / personal ->
event name and date ->
originals (RAW) / JPG High / JPG Low

Very similar to redfan. I keep it very simple....

Year
Then by taken date and event eg(010210_birthdaycelebrations)

Any RAW keepers stay in there along with Photoshopped JPEGS, everything else is deleted.

I have 2 main folders:
Unprocessed/unsorted and finished/sorted (or something along those lines)

I then have folders for each event (eg Xmas 2009) and in this I have a folder of the RAW files. The JPEGs from these (in the finished folder, obviously!) are just in the event folder.

Photography Type (portrait - wedding -etc)
Indevidual Folder For Each Job (Miss B and family 24 July 2009)
then its a folder for the raws (including any PNG-PSD of edits) a folder for the final full res and one final folder for the web images to save upload / processing times.

works for me and I can usually find what ime after sharpish.
