How do you clean your camera body?

Hi,

My camera is, although in excellent condition, a bit "greasy" (I bought it second hand and it already came that way).
It just doesn't have that "as new" feeling that is so great, so I'm thinking it could benefit from a cleaning on the outside.

Is it safe to use isopropyl alcohol?
Do you recommend another product or solvent to remove the "oil" from the pastic and rubber without damaging them?

Microfibre cloth and Mr Muscle kitchen cleaner or similar. Dampen the cloth with the cleaner and wipe down the camera. Dry with kitchen towel if need be.

Nail polish remover is acetone - which will do a fine job of dissolving many plastics. I wouldn't use it on my cameras.

My 40d withstood it. I didn't saturate it, just lightly. I generally wiped with a clean wet pad after the initial nail polish remover

Acetone or meths can work. Test them first on a piece that won't be noticed.
Purchase them from chemist shops for the best price- they should only cost about £1 a bottle that will do you till the end of time.
Just be careful where you use cleaners, they can remove stickers too.

Rocket blower then a microfibre cloth with a dab of meths for any stubborn spots.

Oh I do love a bit of bleach with my camera body but seriously I also use a baby wipe does the job quickly and easy
