How do you do 3d photography??

Over here there is user who has done some 3d photos and I want to try it myself:

Does anyone have any simple tutorials on how to do this? I've googled it, but almost all are pretty hard to follow/understand.

There must be a simple guide somewhere?

In the thread you've linked to the process looks very simple, just take two shots to simulate the left and right eye then animate them into a gif (PS Elements can do this). Getting the positioning of each shot though is going to be the difficult part.
