How do you find the grey point in your picture?

I don't have CS4, but if there is no obvious grey part of the photo (eg a pavement) then you could try this technique:

I'm not sure it's entirely a case of "finding" the grey point so much as it is a case of "setting" it.
Your grey point will be on whatever item in your scene was neutral grey
If no such item exists, then more detective work will be required to identify if you have a colour cast (EG too much yellow in a sky, not enough red in a skintone, etc)
