How do you remove things like faces etc.?

Can someone tell me how you remove things like faces, number plates from cars etc, or black them out.

In an image editing program like Photoshop, just blur or black out the area you wish.

What software are you using?

In most editing software you should be able to use the lasso tool to draw around the object and go to filter > blur or gaussian blur to remove it.

Or just use the smudge tool.
I often just clone them out or scribble over them with the pencil tool (depends on what I'm getting rid of them for).

Depending on what it is you could always try just cropping the photo, ie if it was a photo of a husband and wife who had now split, but the photo was particularly nice of one of them you could crop the other one out
